News: New Warhammer End Times game called Vermintide

Vermintide 2

Announced this morning by Fatshark Games (makers of greats like War of Roses, Krater and Lead and Gold) is a new Warhammer game set in The End Times time period called Vermintide. Here is the description of the game:

Vermintide, a co-operative action first person shooter and melee combat adventure set in the End Times of the iconic Warhammer Fantasy universe. Vermintide is scheduled for release in the second half of 2015, for Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
In Vermintide, the city of Ubersreik is under siege as players select from a band of five heroes with different play-styles and abilities, all equipped with unique gear and personalities. Working together cooperatively, players must use their individual attributes to survive an apocalyptic invasion from hordes of relentless, power hungry Skaven, across a range of environments stretching from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire.

For the most part, most games relating to the Warhammer universe have all been in the 40k time period where it is essentially Chaos destroying all. However in the End Times period of Warhammer everyone is fighting and there is no clear determinant of who will succeed. In each book of the End Times the Order barely survives the forces of destruction which has been for the most part what has always happened in End Times. As for the game itself it is set in a period where the Skaven are attacking the Order and you play with friends to fight back. The game looks like it could be a mix between skyrim and left 4 dead and since Fatshark has experience with a great hack and slash in War of the Roses we can almost expect it to be a well done melee game.
